In the heart of the majestic Dolomites, a gathering of sports cars attracted four-wheel enthusiasts from every corner of Europe. This exceptional event, organized by “Delightful Driving,” promised a weekend of adrenaline, breathtaking scenery and unforgettable moments.
Cars that we had not yet seen at one of our Dolomites tour participated in this Edition, including a McLaren 570S, an AMG GT, an AMG A35, an Alfa 4C, a Fiat 124 Abarth and a Porsche 996 4S. Then the fastest 3-cylinder there is could not be missing, which was the subject of many discussions and skits among all the participants.
DAY ONE
The emotion is palpable at the dawn of a perfect Sunday. Sports car lovers gathered at the picturesque Il Falchetto in Sarnonico, Trentino, for a welcome lunch. The restaurant came alive around 12.30pm, giving everyone a chance to mingle and swap stories of roaring engines.
After a delicious meal, the group began to descend along the picturesque Mendola Pass, heading towards the Dolomites. The winding road and scenic curves provided the perfect setting for a preview of the excitement that awaited attendees.
In the afternoon, the group reached the Smart Hotel Saslong. At 18:00, for those who wanted it, an extraordinary option was organized: a sprint over the Sella Pass to admire the sunset. An experience that tested both driving skills and eyes in front of the beauty of the Dolomites illuminated by the setting sun.
The evening culminated in an elegant dinner at the hotel at 8pm, where car enthusiasts could plan the epic day ahead.
DAY 2
The start of the tour saw the group embark on an epic tour of the Dolomite passes. We have certainly seen worse Mondays than this: the day began with the Sella Pass, an exciting pass for driving enthusiasts even if often busy. From there, the group headed towards the Fedaia Pass, taking a short break at the Dam to admire the breathtaking landscape.
Lunch was served at Baita Resch, where participants were able to taste local specialities, refueling for the afternoon adventure. In the afternoon, the caravan descended the Pordoi Pass and then ascended through the picturesque villages of Tires and Castelrotto, creating indelible memories along the way.
DAY 3
The final day of the rally saw the group tackle the remaining curves. The descent from Carezza was a real driving pleasure thanks to its straights and curves, waiting for us behind one of these there was also a police car that looked down on us as we passed with our expressions innocent. The Lavazè Pass offered a breathtaking panoramic view. The tour concluded with a well-deserved and refreshing lunch break. The “Delightful Driving” event in the Dolomites was much more than just a sports car meeting. It was an experience that captured the essence of the passion for driving and the beauty of nature, creating memories that will last forever in the hearts of all participants.
The Dolomites have proven once again that they are one of the most extraordinary automotive destinations in the world.
