THE GREAT DOLOMITES ROAD

THE GREAT DOLOMITES ROAD

The Great Dolomites Road stretches from Bolzano to Cortina through the Dolomites and is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic mountain roads in the world. Breathtaking views are not to be missed along the way.
Starting in Bolzano, through the Val d’Ega and ending in Cortina, this 110 km long road was made accessible in 1896.

ROUTE

Starting in Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites, take the Great Dolomites Road
heading towards Val d’Ega.
Don’t miss the stop at Lake Carezza to see how the Latemar group is reflected in Empress Sissi’s favourite lake.

Afterwards, the Costalunga Pass and the ascent to the 2239-metre-high Pordoi Pass await you.

The winding Falzarego Pass will then take you to the entrance of Cortina d’Ampezzo, considered the pearl of the Dolomites for its beauty and the majesty of the Dolomites that surround it, declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.
