There’s a reason why driving enthusiasts always find their way to Sardinia. It’s not just for the views; it’s for that endless ribbon of asphalt that served as the backdrop for Delightful Driving’s most incredible tour yet. We knew it from the start when registrations went sold-out in a heartbeat, with drivers joining us from France, Belgium, and the Netherlands just to devour over 1,000 km of Sardinian tarmac with us.
BEYOND COSTA SMERALDA: SEARCHING FOR THE BEST DRIVING ROADS IN SARDINIA
Our goal for this tour was ambitious: we wanted to show you the true diversity of the island. We didn’t settle for the typical tourist spots; we went hunting for the best driving roads in Sardinia, taking you where the landscape shifts and evolves. From the deep blue of the world-famous coastlines to the wild, silent heart of the hinterland, we balanced luxury resorts with hidden villages where time stands still. It’s in this contrast—between a seaside hairpin and a granite-carved mountain pass—that you find the island’s true soul

THE DEPARTURE: FROM BOLZANO TO THE TYRRHENIAN WAVES
It all started on Saturday. The Delightful Driving team left Bolzano for Livorno, with more cameras in the cars than clothes. But before boarding, there’s always time for one last Wienerschnitzel, right? The Moby crew welcomed us at the port with contagious enthusiasm—there’s nothing quite like seeing a ferry garage fill up with sports cars. After a smooth crossing, the excitement peaked: Sardinia was waiting for us at dawn.

OZIERI: A HEARTFELT WELCOME
After disembarking, we headed straight into the island’s heart. Our first stop in Ozieri will remain one of the highlights of the tour. A special thanks goes to the Municipality, the Pro Loco, and Luogotenente Fiaschi for the incredibly warm welcome. Exhibiting our cars in the magnificent central square was an honor, but the real stars were the Copulette: traditional local sweets that gave us the sugar rush needed for the first 300 km of the day. Next, we hit the legendary Alghero-Bosa: the asphalt might not be perfect, but the cliffside views make it one of the most iconic drives in the world.

FROM FORTE VILLAGE LUXURY TO THE INTENSITY OF THE SS 125
On Monday, we hugged the coast toward Buggerru before arriving at the exclusive Forte Village Resort. Seeing the lineup of sports cars in the resort’s driveway was a sight to behold. Tuesday was the “Queen Stage.” We were greeted by the legendary SS 125 Orientale Sarda. Luck was on our side: no sheep blocking the road, just perfect asphalt. The grip here is so aggressive that—without naming names—it literally “ate” the tires of some of our drivers. For lunch, we stepped back in time at Antichi Ovili, a traditional farmhouse with exceptional cuisine, before ending the day in Bari Sardo for some poolside relaxation and freediving sessions.
Wednesday featured what I consider one of the best driving roads in Sardinia: the Baunei-Dorgali. It’s a stretch of asphalt that feels like it was designed by a racing driver. We eventually reached San Teodoro for dinner in the town center. I was staying at my mother’s Bed & Breakfast, Amoreddu (a little corner of paradise you have to visit!).
Thursday was our free day, but the Delightful Driving spirit never rests. While some enjoyed the beach or went trekking, the “hardcore” members of the group clocked in another 400 km of curves. Because when you have the right car and these roads, every kilometer not driven is a missed opportunity.

THE GRAND FINALE: SEE YOU IN 2027
Friday was the final act: a panoramic lunch overlooking San Teodoro. Despite the “not-so-light” Sardinian menu, we found the energy for the final, beautiful curves toward Monti, before heading to Olbia for departure.
Without a doubt, this tour has entered the hall of favorites for Delightful Driving, even for a “first edition.” The international energy, the perfect routes, and the Sardinian hospitality convinced us: Sardinia is officially returning to our calendar.
Get your tires ready (and maybe a spare set), because it’s going to be epic!
