The Route des Grandes Alpes is back also for 2023! Our much loved roller-coaster ride of the most famous French passes and mountain roads presents itself in an updated variation.
This year we will meet at Thonon-les-Bains on Sunday. After a warm welcome and registration, we will conclude the day with a relaxed dinner.
On Monday we will set off for the mountains. We will follow the Route des Grandes Alpes to take us to the ancient province of Savoy. On the way there are countless sights to see which will of course include the photo-op-stop at the Barrage du Roselend. Day one will end at Tignes to enjoy the mountain panorama, the lake and of course our group dinner.
Tuesday will continue our experience of wonderful roads: We start with the Col de l’Iseran and continue to the Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and the Col d’Izoard. And there is a lot to experience between the Cols too: The “connecting stage” between the Iseran and the Telegraphe is wonderful and so will be our journey following the river Guil to our final destination of the day, Eygliers.
We will spend the next morning on the wonderful Col de Vars. At Jausiers we will take a left to experience the highest mountain pass in Europe: The Col de la Bonette. Unforgettable views and an experience you will remember. The day will take us towards Menton, our destination on the Mediterranean coast. But before we will visit one more of the all-time favorites: The Col de Turini.
Thursday will be a rest day at the Cote d’Azur for you to relax, get all sandy and salty on the beach or maybe visit Monaco, Cannes or Nice.
The last day of driving will take us to the city of Cuneo for our final group lunch.
Our Route des Grandes Alpes experience includes:
