Dolomites Sports Car Tour 2025: 3 Days of Epic Mountain Passes

Every time we plan a Dolomites sports car tour, we know two things for sure: one, we’ll be driving some of the best roads in Europe; and two, at some point, the weather will test our patience. Once again, it felt like a little raincloud had been personally assigned to us – the kind that follows you around like in a cartoon. But honestly? At this point, it’s practically part of the team. And besides a few scattered showers, we had three truly fantastic days.

Day 1 – Arrival (and the first downpour)

On Wednesday evening, we all gathered at the Smart Hotel Saslong, which has become our regular base for the Dolomites tour with our sports cars. And yes — it was raining. Of course. We quickly gave up on the idea of the evening drive up to Passo Sella, but our spirits stayed high. A great dinner, the warmth of the group, and a stunning mix of cars got the weekend off to a roaring start.

And what a lineup we had: Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus… each with its own personality, bold colors and the right sound. The group itself was just as diverse, but everyone shared the same look in their eyes: “Finally, we’re on the road.”

Day 2 – Mountain Passes, Landscapes, and (Obviously) Rain

Thursday morning we set off in a relaxed mood, taking advantage of a brief break in the weather. After a coffee stop with photos and chatter between bonnets and windshields, we hit the road toward Ristorante Miralago – one of our go-to spots, where the food is always great and the lake view makes it feel like a postcard.

In the afternoon, it was time for the legendary Dolomite passes: Gardena, Pordoi, Campolongo. And of course, our infamous little raincloud came back, just to keep things interesting. The one who suffered the most was Umberto on his KTM — he caught all the rain. But even soaked, he kept smiling.

Back at the hotel, a good aperitivo and dinner got everyone back on their feet. The first mountain twisties were done — and the hunger for more driving was only growing.

Day 3 – Real driving, dream curves and a (sort of) serious race

Friday was full throttle from the get-go. Early wake-up, tanks full, and off we went toward Passo Lavazè, which welcomed us with open views and almost zero traffic. Then we descended into the Val di Cembra, a ribbon of wide, flowing, perfectly paced corners – the kind of road that makes you grin behind the wheel.

After lunch (light… more or less), we climbed Passo della Mendola – one of our absolute favorites. Perfect tarmac and the dramatic “rock wall” section that always leaves everyone speechless. Driving and scenery in perfect harmony.

Then came the afternoon highlight: a go-kart race at Frasnelli. And you know the rule – once the visor goes down, the friendships go on hold. Flying laps brought out the inner racer in all of us. It got competitive fast, but always with a laugh. A few bruised egos, yes, but mostly just fun, teasing and some proper driving duels – even without horsepower under the hood.

Worn out but happy, we returned to the hotel for a final aperitivo and a well-deserved drink. The dinner closed things out in style, with plenty of laughs and stories already turning into memories.

Saturday – Goodbyes and final curves

Saturday morning came with goodbyes – but not for everyone. As often happens in our tours, a few small groups decided to stretch the journey a bit longer, chasing a few more curves together before heading back to their garages.

Because once you get into the rhythm of a weekend like this, it’s hard to let go.
