Delightful Driving takes you to the heart of Italy to explore the most beautiful driving roads of Abruzzo and admire its breathtaking landscapes.

Our journey begins in the town of Sulmona, where we’ll enjoy a dinner of traditional local dishes — and yes, you’ll definitely want to try the famous arrosticini.

The first day is dedicated to discovering the Maiella, starting strong on the twists of Passo San Leonardo before reaching the panoramic viewpoint of Maielletta. Here we’ll have lunch in the mountains with a sea view — a rare combination that only Abruzzo can offer.

In the afternoon, we’ll complete the Maiella loop crossing the “Altopiano delle Cinque Miglia,” a vast plateau with a five-mile straight road that looks straight out of the American West.

The second day will be devoted to the Gran Sasso, the highest peak of the Apennines. We’ll have lunch right in Campo Imperatore, surrounded by a landscape so surreal it feels like being on another planet. No wonder it’s called the Little Tibet. On our way back, we’ll pass under the medieval fortress of Rocca Calascio before returning to the hotel for our final dinner together.
